Installing Element 3D
Step by Step Installation Instructions

Download the PC or Mac Element installer from the Download Section. Once downloaded, unzip the file and double click to start the installation process.

Click Next to continue the installation.

Click "I accept" to agree to the Terms and Conditions.

Choose what versions of After Effects to install to. You can also install to a Custom directory (see below).

Next, you'll have the choice of where to install the Element 3D Assets. Click next when you've made a choice.

The next window shows the directory that Element 3D will be installed to. Click Next to confirm install.

It will now begin the installation and should only take a few seconds. Hit Finish when its done to close the window.
Error Code: 54

Close After Effects before running installer. You may need to reboot in case it is still open in the processe. If problem persists please contact support for assistance.
Installing to Custom Directory
During the installation process there is a window to choose which versions of After Effects you would like to install to, and near the bottom there is a Custom checkbox. Check the Custom text box to install the plugin to a custom location. A dropdown will appear, choose 32 bit if you are on After Effects CS3 or CS4, choose 64 bit if you are on CS5, CS6, or CC. Then hit the Browse button to select the directory that you would like to install the plugin at. Click next.
Licensing Element 3D
Follow the steps below for automatic and manual license installation
Automatic License Installation
Open After Effects, create a new composition with a new solid. Add the Element effect to the solid from the Effect tab
Click on the Scene Interface, a Generate License window will pop-up
You can enter your Video Copilot Store login information and it will generate your license for you right there.
If you are having trouble with it generating a license due to internet connection issues or other issues, you can Manually Install the license (see below).
Manual License Installation
Click on Request File, this will generate a License Request file
Save your file to a location
Go to your Video Copilot Store account download section and click on the Element download page
Near the bottom right of the page, click browse under the Manual License Generator section to select the License Request File you saved
Click Generate License and it will prompt you to save the License File.
Go back to After Effects and in the Element License window under step 3 click Install License File
Select the License File you downloaded from the store.
Invalid License or Error: 51
Delete the following folder if you are on PC and then run the Element 3D installer again and license as normal:
C:/ProgramData/VideoCopilot
**C:/ProgramData is a hidden folder so you might need to type it in the Windows Explorer address bar**
Delete the following folder if you are on MAC and then run the Element 3D installer again and license as normal:
/Users/{username}/Library/Application Support/VideoCopilot
**/Users/{username}/Library is a hidden folder so you might need to go to Finder menu 'Go' and use 'Go to Folder...' and type the path in.**
